About Us

The charity was formed on 4th October 1969. It was regulated under the charities Act 1960.  Its original name was Forest Corp of Medical Education & Research Trust.   Its purpose is to encourage, assist and extend the academic and research activities to all member of the medical, dental and allied professional practicing within these areas.

The first formal post graduate course established by the late Mr Douglas Long- Stevenson was the Higher Surgery FRCS Course. The Charity provides a number of other post graduate courses including, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.  The Trustees are chaired by Dr Anish Bahra and meet quarterly.  Membership is made up from various medical consultants from a variety of specialities across the Trust.

Any financial surplus achieved from the delivery of courses is donated to research and education projects, administered by the charity.  This includes support through grants, projects research and development, equipment and other funding to medical staff.
